What an exciting year this has been for me and my boutique interior design and remodeling firm, Terri Becker Designs! I am overwhelmed with love and gratitude. To have and to be awarded the Best Interior Design Firm in Dallas by the Dallas Morning News is an award voted on by the people. That is all of YOU taking the time and effort to vote for me. That is so special to me. It is an honor beyond my wildest dreams. Thank you!
When I decided to take the plunge almost three years ago to work and design exclusively for myself some people may have thought I was a little nuts. And maybe I was (and am, lol). But that gamble has paid off and I could not be happier. I am truly living the life of my dreams. Pinch me! Cliché, perhaps. But, I'm so here for it.
And, just to think y'all, it started with a pink slip.
Three years ago, I was working for a nationwide company designing and selling projects but my heart wasn't energized by it. Sure, it was a steady paycheck but I was limited in what I could do, I felt the creativity leaking out of me. I was in a rut.
Yes, I loved designing and selling projects but it wasn't turnkey and bold and innovative design the way I yearned to do. I was having to compromise myself. I wasn't providing my clients the experience they deserved. I couldn't choose the contractors that I worked with and I had to take every customer that came into the store interested in a remodel. I had to work with certain materials and parameters, antiquated systems, and corporate triangulation. I yearned for doing exciting, cutting-edge projects that I had been able to do with a prior company. I loved working with clients but I hated seeing them mistreated and taken advantage of by contractors and companies looking to get rich.
One fateful day, the company let go of me and all of my co-workers nationwide. My co-workers were gutted, I saw this as a sign from the universe.
Ready or not, it was time for Terri Becker Designs.
Cue the frenzy and mania...

A whole-home update that included a master bathroom suite I would love to have for myself. That soaking tub!
I have had the honor and privilege of working with some amazing families that believed in my vision for their home and commercial renovations and are a testament that a good design well executed can change the shape and feel of your life. I am so thankful for them!
Don't get me wrong, it hasn't been a cakewalk. It took guts, determination, and a good dose of stubbornness to get through it all. As a way of beautiful celestial manifestation, the accolades keep coming. The last three years have also included winning two Dallas Ovation Awards, 1st Place for Outdoor Living in the Celebrating Texas Design, Best of Houzz for 2019 and 2020, and multiple publications. Wow! I am still a bit speechless, to be honest.
It has been so rewarding, so hard, so challenging and I am so thankful to be able to do what I love. Every day, my goal and aspiration is "Making Your Dream Space a Reality." It has been the stuff my dreams never knew they were made of.
