I am excited to announce that in October, I will be moving into my new role as Chair of the ASID Dallas Design Community for the 2022-2023 year. I have been part of the Dallas board for the past year; I am fortunate to align with so many visionaries in the Dallas Design Community. This transition feels alive with gorgeous opportunities!

There are so many outstanding designers involved in the American Society for Interior Designers. This is true locally in Dallas, as well as in Texas and nationwide. Next week, we will all be meeting at the Gather 2022 conference in Miami, Florida. I am so excited to meet and learn with these incredibly talented and creative people!

Looking ahead to my time as Chair, one of my key plans for the Dallas Chapter of ASID is to align with Habitat for Humanity of Collin County and their new sustainable and eco-conscious shipping container development in McKinney, Texas, called The Cotton Groves.

I can't say enough about this new community. The innovation and space planning is enough to make any designer swoon. You can see a 3D of the community below.

The Dallas ASID community is aligning with Habitat for Humanity to add some glow-up on the finish of their brand-new amenity center. That's not all! We are also helping the first two families move into their new state-of-the-art shipping container homes.

Y'all know how I am passionate about shipping container homes. I have learned so much already and am looking forward to learning even more. The families that we are working with have great stories that I am looking forward to sharing and creating their dream spaces.

Let's talk about this awesome project. There are countless cool perks to the Cotton Groves community. We're talking teen center, kiddo climb park, book lending library, top-of-the-line computer lounge, community garden center, and a dog park, to start. There will be 35 new units on this 2.7-acre plot of land near downtown McKinney. A mighty army of volunteers is building this community, one shipping container at a time. But we need more help: we need you!

Here are a few photos of the shipping container model home that is located in the parking lot of the Habitat for Humanity's ReStore in McKinney.

North Texas designers and industry professionals: we are going to have several work days in October and would love to have you join us have a few hours to volunteer your time and talents.

Please stay tuned to hear more about this amazing project as well as all of the cool things we have planned for the ASID Dallas design community, where designers and industry partners can plug in and put in the work together. You can follow us on social media with the hashtag #designimpactslives

"Making Your Dream Space A Reality" is the tagline for my business for a reason. It's my true mission in life. Because, at the heart of it all, that is what gives me the most joy. Creating spaces for clients that enrich their lives.

I can't wait to see how many lives are touched and transformed through this cutting-edge project, including the wonderful families and the residents of McKinney.

I am not only excited about my new role with ASID. In all this goodness, I'm also cooking up some transformational projects.

The "Zen Zone" project that will be a Plano massage school, retail space, and center for wholeness offering a wide range of classes, as well as massage, mediation, and more. This is going to be next-level cool, y'all.

Stay tuned. It's going to be one hell of a year and I could not more jazzed!

All my love,

Terri
